Margarita Brida, Assistant Professor, MD PhD FESC completed her specialization in

Internal Medicine and Cardiology and her doctoral postgraduate study at University

Hospital Centre Zagreb. She attended a two-year clinical and research Fellowship in

Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) at the University Hospital Muenster,

Germany and the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, and has a University of Harvard

degree on the Global Clinical Scholars Research, Boston. She has taken a leadership

role on clinical and academic development of ACHD in the Central and South Eastern

European region through international collaboration, research, clinical, and scientific

meetings and projects and has established and leads the ACHD Academy

international organization. She holds two affiliations; apart from Assistant

Professorship in her home country Croatia she is consultant cardiologist at Royal

Brompton Hospital, London, UK. Her main clinical interests within ACHD are

echocardiography and heart failure. Dr Brida is an official Nucleus Member of the

European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Working Group on ACHD and she

has been elected as ESC WG Chairperson-Elect 2022-2024. She serves as an

Associate Editor for ACHD in the European Heart Journal and International Journal

of Cardiology Congenital Heart Disease.
