Dr. Diller is a Professor/Consultant Cardiologist at a leading centre for adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) and structural heart disease in Germany and affiliated with a leading ACHD centre in the United Kingdom. Dr. Diller has a clinical and academic interest in ACHD, pulmonary hypertension and ventricular function. Most of his research has been linked to pulmonary arterial hypertension and exercise intolerance in the setting of congenital heart disease. He has been implicated in the design and conduct of drug trials in this setting and has a strong interest in the assessment of ventricular function using novel echocardiographic techniques such as speckle tracking echocardiography. Dr Diller also has a strong academic interest in health economic topics (including the impact of socioeconomic status on access to care and outcome, cost utility analysis and the effect of competition on clinical outcome) as well as advanced statistical methods. Currently he is leading innovative research in artificial intelligence and machine learning in ACHD which has resulted in various recent high ranked publications on the topic.
Professor Diller is the current Chairperson of the ESC Working Group for Adults with Congenital Heart Disease.
He currently also serves as an associate editor for congenital heart disease on the editorial board of the Journal Heart and the Journal of the American College Cardiology.
